Well, shut the front door and kick off the Louboutins!

After years and years of claims in the Twitterverse that Adrian Grenier's character, Nate, is the true villain in the 2006 film *The Devil Wears Prada -* rather than Meryl Streep's character, Miranda Priestley - the Hollywood star has weighed in on the debate and he *checks notes* actually *agrees.*

In case you need a little refresher: Nate was the rather unsupportive boyfriend of Andy, played by Anne Hathaway, who most memorably gets the sh\*\*s when Andy misses his birthday party to attend a work event.

For 15 years, there have been memes and online discussions about his selfish character and this week, Adrian sat down with *Entertainment Weekly* to dissect the issue once and for all, admitting he didn't quite get the outrage at first:

"I didn't see some of the subtleties and the nuance of his character and what it represented in the film until the wisdom of the masses came online and started to push against the character and throw him under the bus and I got flak," he tells the publication.

"It hadn't really occurred to me until I started to really think about it, and perhaps it was because I was as immature as Nate was at the time," he adds.

"He couldn't support her like she needed because he was a fragile, wounded boy."

*Whoomp, there is is - a fragile, wounded boy!*

Anne Hathaway, who also took part in the interview, joked that: "We've all been brats at different points. We all just need to live, let live, do better!"
