# Chris Evans Joyfully Announces Marriage to Alba Baptista

**Chris Evans** has confirmed some major personal news - he's a married man!

The *Captain America* star took to the stage at New York Comic Con where, much to the delight of the audience, he spoke about his new life withactor **Alba Baptista.**

In footage shared from the event online, he says, "I got married. It was really, really great" - all with a huge smile on his face, of course! (You can check out the clip [here](https://twitter.com/Cevansforever13/status/1713270484412874980?ref=celebritykind.ghost.io).)

The actor, who was at the event to discuss his career - but not his work, due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes - explained they had two wedding ceremonies: "We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal. My wife's Portuguese. Yeah, go Portugal!"

He added that organising it all was quite the job: "It's a lot planning for a wedding. For those of you who are married, it takes a lot out of you!"

But Chris says now that they're through that side of it, they're enjoying life together. "It's the best time of the year right now. Now we're just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting."

This is the first time Chris has opened up about being married. Both he and Alba have stayed understandably quiet about their relationship, never revealing when they started dating or when they got engaged. And they've never turned up to red carpet events together either.

It was only when Chris made a compilation video looking back at the year 2022 that their relationship was officially made public. He shared photos of himself and Alba in his Insta stories at the time and a few months later, on Valentine's Day this year, he also shared a series of sweet photos of them together. (Chris isn't currently on Instagram so the photos aren't available!)

During the Comic Con panel, Chris also spoke about his dog, Dodger, how much he loves Christmas, and how he'd like to return to Broadway!
