"After this, I'm going to Los Angeles. We're going to be shooting the *Friends* reunion next week, so I'm hopping on a plane this afternoon or this evening and yeah, I'm gonna see everyone next week for the first time in many years."

He also explained everyone will be playing themselves, rather than their iconic characters.

"I'll be myself. I'll be David. There's nothing scripted. We're not in character. We're all ourselves, the real people."

HBO Max announced last year that David and his cast mates **Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc** and **Matthew Perry** would be taking part in the special project. But the announcement came right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and production has been delayed...until now!

The group hasn't appeared on screen together since 2004.
