*NAZA,* a documentary about Gaza from Israeli filmmakers **Yuval Abraham** and **Rachel Szor,** has received a 24.5 minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival - a record for the event, and any major film festival.

The piece features interviews with Israeli military intelligence officers and soldiers about civilian casualties, and specifically, how they use surveillance technology to carry out bombings targeting Palestinians.

The film picked up the Jury Award at the festival, with [Yuval and Rachel](https://www.instagram.com/p/DdMvyjosRV%5F/?ref=celebritykind.ghost.io) using their platform to highlight the horrors people are facing in Gaza:

"The reality is that since this festival started, just over these 10 days, Israel has killed six Palestinian children in Gaza, at least. A three-year-old at a school was bombed. A seven-year-old with her father in the car and two sisters at home sleeping," Yuval said.

"The Israeli intelligence officers we spoke with (for the documentary) talked to us about how this mass killing is systemic, not by accident but by design. Actions of murder and policies that are base on total dehumanisation of Palestinians. And I want to be very clear. This truth has been documented and is known from the very first day thanks to Palestinian journalists. More than 200 of them were killed by Israel in Gaza. Their voices were silenced and denied. We believe that the denial of the crime is what helps it persist. And that's why it's really, really especially important for us Israelis to watch this film. It's our country that is doing these crimes. That Europeans watch it and especially here in Italy because your government and German government are blocking pressure on Israel that can end this. That Americans watch it because that country is funding much of the killing."

The previous record for a standing ovation was almost 24 minutes, held by *The Voice of Hind Rajab,* about the death of a young Palestinian girl killed by Israeli strikes in Gaza.

Abraham and Szor are also known for co-directing the film *No Other Land* with Palestinian activists Basel Adra and Hamdan Ballal. It won an Oscar for Best Feature Documentary in 2025.
