# Hayden Panettiere Hopes to Empower Others in Abusive Relationships to Seek Help After Ex-Boyfriend's Arrest

**Hayden Panettiere** says she's ready to "regain my voice and my life" and she's hoping to inspire others in abusive relationships to do the same.

The actress and mum has been granted a restraining order against ex-boyfriend **Brian Hickerson** who's been arrested in relation to a number of charges including domestic violence and assault.

"I am coming forward with the truth about what happened to me with the hope that my story will empower others in abusive relationships to get the help they need and deserve," **Hayden** writes in a message on her socials.

"I am prepared to do my part to make sure this man never hurts anyone again," she continues, acknowledging that she's had a support system to help her get to this point.

While the details of her story haven't been shared just yet, **Hayden** is encouraging her almost one million followers to seek support too:
