**Hugh Jackman** has received a medal as a Companion of the Order of Australia and it's kind of a big deal. It recognises his work in the performing arts, his role in advancing Australia's image overseas and his philanthropy. It's such a big deal in fact, that **Ryan Reynolds** has momentarily stopped trolling the actor on social media to congratulate him!

*"Hugh Jackman is one of the finest, kindest, hard working, generous and most talented people I've had the privilege to call my friend,"* **Ryan** writes on Insta. *"There's nobody better."*

Receiving the medal at a ceremony in Canberra, **Hugh** was praised for his distinguished career and all he does to help others - He is a Patron of **Fight Cancer Australia** and a long-time supporter of **World Vision**. His fair trade **Laughing Man Coffee** company not only supports coffee growers living in poverty but also, a number of important health, education and housing projects too.

But amongst all the praise and applause, **Ryan's** making sure his Aussie mate stays grounded. He ends his kind message on a cheeky note, saying: *"none of this changes the unfortunate fact he's a complete bastard."*

He tried, right?
