**Jennifer** **Coolidge** is full of gratitude for **Ariana Grande!**

The *White Lotus* actor is thanking the singer for helping boost her career which she believes was "flatlining" for a while there...

Chatting during [*Entertainment Weekly's* Entertainers of the Year issue,](https://ew.com/tv/ariana-grande-interviews-jennifer-coolidge-entertainers-of-the-year-cover-2022/?ref=celebritykind.ghost.io) Jennifer, who famously played Stifler's mother in the *American Pie* movies of the late 90s and early 2000s as well as 'bend-and-snap' queen Paulette in *Legally Blonde,* says things changed for her when Ariana asked her to be in the 'Thank U, Next' video.

"I mean, from there I got *Promising Young Woman,* and this whole thing," she tells Ariana, referring to her stand-out role as heiress Tanya Mcquoid in *The White Lotus.*

"You were sort of the instigator. I really believe that. I think if you hadn't put me in 'Thank U, Next'... I don't think I would be here where I am."

Of course, Ariana was having none of it: "That is absolutely the most untrue thing I've ever heard in my life!"

"No, I really think that!" Jennifer insisted. "And I think it's pretty cool. I was kind of flatlining, and you got things going for me. I just want to thank you. I know you're a very humble person, you wouldn't admit to it, But I'm just going to thank you."

Jennifer and Ariana also chat about her favourite movie roles, her favourite one-liners, the actor who's made her laugh the hardest on set and more.
