**John Legend** just gave an incredibly touching performance of his single "Never Break" at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards - and he dedicated it to **Chrissy Teigen.**

Sitting behind a black piano, he whispered, "this is for Chrissy," before singing the emotional lyrics, and tearing up a little himself.

It's the first time he's returned to the stage since he and Chrissy [announced their pregnancy loss.](https://celebritykind.ghost.io/content/files/2026/09/chrissy-teigen-and-john-legend-share-heartbreak-of-pregnancy-loss-16.html)

BBMA's host **Kelly Clarkson** took a moment during the show to share her support for the couple:

"John Legend is one of my favourite people on this planet and it's easy for us all to feel that way about them because he and Chrissy just have this warm way of inviting us into their world - the highs and the lows," she says.

"Our hearts go out to you both in this very difficult time and I'm thankful that you continue to share your light and your talent with all of us for the very special performance, possibly my favourite of the night."
