# Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex is Officially a Best-Selling Author

Philanthropist, compassion advocate and mama of two, **Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex** is officially a best-selling author!

Her children's book, [*The Bench*](https://booktopia.kh4ffx.net/DVLejd?ref=celebritykind.ghost.io)*,*has reached the top spot on the [New York Times Best Seller](https://www.nytimes.com/books/best-sellers/picture-books/?ref=celebritykind.ghost.io) list for picture books after being released just last week.

It was inspired by a poem she wrote as a Father's Day gift to Prince Harry after their eldest child, Archie, was born and captures the special bond between fathers and sons.

"While this poem began as a love letter to my husband and son, I'm encouraged to see that its universal themes of love, representation and inclusivity are resonating with communities everywhere," a statement from the Duchess reads on the [Archewell Foundation site.](http://www.archewell.com/?ref=celebritykind.ghost.io)

"In many ways, pursuing a more compassionate and equitable world begins with these core values. Equally, to depict another side of masculinity - one grounded in connection, emotion and softness - is to model a world that so many would like to see for their sons and daughters alike. Together with the help of her publishers, [Meghan recently donated](https://celebritykind.ghost.io/content/files/2026/09/meghan-is-donating-thousands-of-her-childrens-book-the-bench-to-schools-and-nonprofits-across-america-3.html) 2,000 copies of the book to non-profits and schools in America supporting low-income families.
