# MICHAEL JORDAN DONATES $2 MILLION FROM "THE LAST DANCE" TO HUNGER RELIEF

Basketball legend **Michael Jordan** is using some of the proceeds from the successful ESPN documentary about his career, *The Last Dance,* to help communities in need.

It's been revealed the Hall of Famer has given away $2 million to **Feeding America,** an organisation working to feed the 1 in 9 people struggling with hunger in the U.S.

"In these challenging times and in a year of unimaginable difficulty due to COVID-19, it's more important than ever to pause and give thanks," **Jordan** said in a statement posted by the non-profit.

"I am proud to be donating additional proceeds from 'The Last Dance' to Feeding America and its member food banks in the Carolinas in Chicago to help feed America's hungry."

The people at **Feeding America** who supply more than 200 food banks across the country, were obviously delighted by his kindness:

[According to the charity,](http://feedingamerica.org/?ref=celebritykind.ghost.io) COVID-19 has meant that 50 million people may be facing hunger in the U.S this year, including more than 17 million children.

**Jordan** is regularly donating to important causes. Earlier this year, [he gave $100 million](https://celebritykind.ghost.io/content/files/2026/09/michael-jordan-and-the-jordan-brand-donate-100-million-to-racial-equality-causes.html) to organisations fighting racism including the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

Last year he donated $1 million to relief efforts in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian hit and the year before that, he donated $2 million to support recovery efforts in hurricane-ravaged North Carolina.
