# Olivia Munn & John Mulaney Welcome Baby Méi

**Olivia Munn** and **John Mulaney’s** family just grew a little bigger - they've announced the birth of their daughter, baby Méi!

The actors shared the sweet news on their social media accounts along with a series of photos of their newest bundle of joy, including one of John and Olivia holding Méi while sitting on a hospital bed and another of Méi with big brother, Malcolm.

Olivia, who recently went through treatment for aggressive breast cancer, shared that their baby arrived via surrogate:

"Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon," she begins.

"I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel. Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true. I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded."

Olivia added that Méi is pronounced "May" and means plum in Chinese.

In March this year, after being out of the public eye for several months, Olivia [revealed](https://celebritykind.ghost.io/olivia-munn-shares-breast-cancer-diagnosis/) she had been undergoing breast cancer treatment.

“Luminal B is an aggressive, fast moving cancer," she shared in a s[ocial media](https://www.instagram.com/p/C4dXfrULDdJ/?utm%5Fsource=ig%5Fweb%5Fcopy%5Flink) post at the time. "I went from feeling completely fine one day to waking up in a hospital bed after a 10-hour surgery the next.”

She added, “I’m lucky. We caught it with enough time that I had options."

In her post, she gave a special shoutout to John for his unconditional support throughout the process:

“I’m so thankful to John for the nights he spent researching what every operation and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect. For being there before I went into each surgery and being there when I woke up, always placing framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”

Olivia captioned the message, “I hope by sharing this it will help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their own journey.”

- a lump in your breast or underarm (armpit)
- thickening, swelling or changes in the size or shape of your breast
- irritation or dimpling of your breast skin
- pain in any area of your breast
- indentation (puckering) of part of the breast when you lift your arms
- redness, crusting or flaky skin in your nipple area or your breast
- inverted nipple or pain in your nipple area
- nipple discharge other than breast milk .
