# Paris Hilton and Carter Reum Are Engaged!

**Paris Hilton** got a very special surprise for her 40th birthday - a proposal from boyfriend **Carter Reum!**

The reality star and entrepreneur shared a post on Instagram confirming the beautiful news:

"When you find your soulmate, you don't just know it. You feel it," she captions a video of the proposal.

"My love & I have been together since our first day and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise. As we walked to dinner along the beach, Carter led us to a cabana adorned with flowers and dropped to one knee. I said yes, yes to forever."

Paris continues: "There's no one I'd rather spend forever with."

On her blog **ParisHilton.com**, she says "it was the kind of proposal I had always dreamed of."

She also shared details about the special ring:

"My love went above and beyond in every way. He tapped Jean Dousset, the great-grandson of Louis-François Cartier to design a breathtakingly beautiful ring that appears to be lit from within."

A number of Paris' friends left comments on social media sharing their excitement:

"Congratulations. I am so happy for you two. Sending lots of love," **Heidi Klum** writes with a row of red heart emojis.

"So happy for you!!!" added **Miranda Kerr.**

Paris and Carter have been together for about a year.

On Valentine's Day she thanked him on Instagram for loving her as she is:

"You accept me for who I am and encourage me to show my true self to the world. I'm eternally grateful to have you in my life, today and everyday."
