Stars **Cynthia Erivo** and **Jonathan Bailey** walked the red carpet (well, actually, it was a yellow brick-road with multi-colour tones) along with director **Jon M. Chu.** Fellow star **Ariana Grande** couldn't make the event due to flight delays. Earlier in the week, she shared a message with her disappointed fans in her Instagram stories: "Brazil, I can't believe this is happening and I am beyond devastated to be sending this message. A few hours ago, my team and I had to deplane our flight, as they had to do maintenance on the plane due to a safety issue. It will not be taking off until 11 a.m. tomorrow, which means that I would not be making it in time." She explained that her team tried everything to make it work, including looking at other possible flight options. "I am so heartbroken that I'm unable to be there with you all. Please shower my incredible cast mates with all of the love that I wish I could be showering you with and have the most beautiful celebration. I am so, so very sorry." As for those incredible cast mates, here they are at the premiere: ![Jon M Chu, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey at the Wicked for Good premiere in Sao Paulo](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3200-scaled.jpg) Jon M Chu, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey, Universal Pictures ![Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey smile and laugh with each other on the red carpet ](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3201.jpg) Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey, Universal Pictures ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3202.jpg) Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey, Universal Pictures ![Jonathan Bailey dressed in black pants and a black shirt at the Wicked for Good premiere in Brazil ](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3203.jpg) Jonathan Bailey, Universal Pictures ![Cynthia Erivo taking selfies with fans at the Wicked for Good premiere in Brazil ](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3204.jpg) Cynthia Erivo with fans, Universal Pictures ![Jonathan Bailey taking selfies with fans at the Wicked for Good premiere in Sao Paulo. ](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3205-2.jpg) Joanthan Bailey with fans, Universal Pictures ![Jon M Chu at the Wicked for Good premiere in Brazil ](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3218.jpg) Jon M Chu, Universal Pictures ![Jon M Chu, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey smiling together on the red carpet, they stand in front of a yellow and green feature. ](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3219-1.jpg) Jon M Chu, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey, Universal Pictures ![Jonathan Bailey signing autographs for fans ](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3222.jpg) Jonathan Bailey, Universal Pictures Hey there bestie - sign up to our [FREE Newsletter](https://celebritykind.ghost.io/content/files/2026/09/newsletter-sign-up-14.html) for more kind, no-gossip celebrity news! ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3225.jpg) Jon M Chu with fans, Universal Pictures ![Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey at the Wicked for Good premiere in Brazil, smiling together](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3229.jpg) Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey, Universal Pictures ![Cynthia Erivo smiles at the premiere of Wicked for Good, Brazil ](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3231.jpg) Cynthia Erivo, Universal Pictures ![Jon M Chu with fans at Wicked for Good](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3242.jpg) Jon M Chu, Universal Pictures ![Jonathan Bailey speaking on stage, with Jon M Chu, Cynthia Erivo and hosts beside him.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3240.jpg) Jonathan Bailey speaking on stage at the event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. ![Cynthia Erivo speaking on stage at the Brazil Wicked for Good event](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cf/bb/cfbb8a7e-9a81-48ec-83e6-18e106bf4f7a/content/images/2026/09/img_3241.jpg) Cynthia Erivo speaking on stage; Universal Pictures
