**Rihanna** has officially confirmed the news - she's releasing new music for the first time in 6 years!

'Lift Me Up' will appear on the soundtrack to the new Marvel movie *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.* According to a press release, the song was co-written by RiRi and Nigerian singer Tems "as a tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman" who starred in the first *Black Panther* film and sadly [passed away](https://celebritykind.ghost.io/content/files/2026/09/hollywood-remembers-the-inspirational-chadwick-boseman-3.html) from cancer in 2020.

Sharing a teaser on Instagram, Rihanna announced she'll be dropping the song on October 28...which is *checks notes* only one sleep away!

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the superstar since 2016 when she released her album *Anti.* Over the past few years, she's been busy building her Fenty beauty and Savage X Fenty lingerie empires as well as supporting environmental causes through her Clara and Lionel Foundation.
