It was all about *Schitt's Creek* at the 72nd Emmy Awards.

Not only did they win Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing, but their stars also won all the major acting awards too.

**Catherine O'Hara** who plays Moira Rose on the show, took home the first award of the night for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, followed by co-star **Eugene Levy** who won Lead Actor.

Meanwhile **Daniel Levy** and **Annie Murphy** won the Supporting Actor and Actress awards taking the *Schitt's Creek* tally to a whopping seven - that's every single award in the comedy category!

Add to that Outstanding Costumes *and* Outstanding Casting which the *Schitt's Creek* crew scored earlier during the "Creative Emmys" and that makes *nine!*

Interestingly, *Schitt's Creek* has never won a single Emmy until now, its final season.

Meanwhile **Mark Ruffalo** won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a movie for his role in *I Know This Much Is True* and used his moment to urge people to use their platforms for good - and vote.

"It's a story that is common throughout so much of the world today. And it asks a big question, how are we going to deal and honour and take care of each other and our most vulnerable people?" he said.

"And we do that with love, and we do that with compassion, and by fighting for them. And that is what we have to do today. We have to come together with love for each other. And if you have privilege, you have to fight for those who are less fortunate and more vulnerable."

And there was this adorable moment when **Mark's** wife **Sunrise Ruffalo** temporarily stole the show:

**Regina King** won the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Movie for *Watchmen -* her *fourth* career Emmy - which also scored writers **Damon Lindelof** and **Cord Jefferson** the Best Screenplay gong.

**Regina** used her moment to urge viewers to vote during the upcoming U.S Presidential elections and also kept the spotlight on the death of **Breonna Taylor**, a young Black woman who was shot while sleeping in her home by police who carried out a no-knock warrant at the wrong address.

Though she didn't speak about **Breonna,** the actress wore a T-shirt with Breonna's image on it.

Similarly **Uzo Aduba** who won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Shirley Chisholm in *Mrs America,* wore a T-shirt with **Breonna Taylor's** name written across it.

And then there was this beautiful moment when **Zendaya** won her first Emmy:

At 24 years old, **Zendaya** also made history as the youngest winner of the Lead Actress Emmy in a Drama Series.

Other winners included **Yahya Abdul-Mateen II** for Best Supporting Actor in a movie, **Julia Garner** for Best Supporting Actress, *Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,* for Outstanding Variety Talk Series and **Tyler Perry** who received the prestigious Governor's Award for his contribution to television and his humanitarian efforts.

The actor gave a beautiful speech about diversity and the importance of representation:

"I stand here tonight to say thank you to all of the people who are celebrating and know the value of every patch and every story and every colour that makes up this quilt that is our business, this quilt that is our lives. This quilt that is America. Because in my grandmother's quilt, there were no patches that represented Black people on television."

The Emmys was a virtual event this year hosted by **Jimmy Kimmel** and involved 138 stars in 114 locations across the world.
