The three-minute clip takes us to a new resort in Thailand where we're introduced to an epic cast including BLACKPINK's Lisa who stars as a hotel worker, Natasha Rothwell who returns as spa manager Belinda, Aimee Lou Wood as hotel guest Chelsea and more.

"What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand," a character narrates, adding that "at the end of the week, you will be an entirely different person."

Their words are accompanied by a flurry of clips - from rich guests partying with poolside cocktails to a closeup of a gun, and the chaos that ensues.

Wait a minute, there's no **Jennifer** **Coolidge** this time? Well, there's no sign of her character Tanya McQuoid in the new trailer and given [Tanya's fate in Season 2](https://celebritykind.ghost.io/content/files/2026/09/the-white-lotus-season-2-finale-reveals-whos-checked-out-for-good-1.html), it seems unlikely Jennifer would return. (But never say never, perhaps?)

## Where is *The White Lotus* Season 3 taking place?

The series, created by **Mike White**, is set in Thailand with filming locations including Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok.

“We are pleased to partner with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to execute Mike’s creative vision and showcase all that the beautiful country of Thailand has to offer, as the next group of guests check in to The White Lotus,” HBO & Max’s EVP of Production Janet Graham Barba said in a release last year.

The Tourism Authority’s Thapanee Kiatphaibool added that the country is honoured to be involved and to be given the opportunity to showcase “the kingdom’s natural beauty, rich historical sites and diverse landscapes.”

The last two seasons were set in Hawaii and Italy.

## What is the plot of *The White Lotus* Season 3?

In a post-season 2 interview on HBO, Mike White shared this little tidbit:

“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex and I think the third season, it would be a satirical and funny look at death, and eastern religion and spirituality.”

In the trailer shared above, we meet various hotel guests, get hints of their relationships crumbling, and utter chaos as crime sweeps through the resort.

## When Will *The White Lotus* Season 3 be released?
