*The Good Place* actor **William Jackson Harper** is sharing his thoughts on a petition calling for him to play the first Black Superman - and it's pretty hilarious!

You see, a few months ago, Warner Brothers announced that the DC Universe is working on a movie franchise reboot with a Black Man of Steel. So the Twitterverse has been throwing a bunch of names around about who would suit the role, and William's is high up there.

During a recent appearance on *Jimmy Kimmel Live,* the actor said he was "blindsided" by the whole thing.

"Like, what? Why? Who knows me?" he laughed.

"I mean, that would be dope," he added but clarified there would be a few conditions.

"That would be the best thing that could happen to me, to be able to play Superman. I don't want to do the diet or the exercise part, but yeah."

Look, I don't know about you, but I'd be *totally fine* with a less muscular superhero!

Jimmy Kimmel then joked about how fans probably want to see William as Superman because his character Chidi on *The Good Place* wears glasses, just like Clark Kent.

"That's gotta be the only explanation," William laughed.

"'Cause otherwise I'm just a nerdy professor dude!"

Can you think of anyone else who would suit the role? Let us know in the comments below!
