Yes, it's true - Original Days of Thunder star Tom Cruise and the talented Anne Hathaway just announced they are teaming up for a sequel to the 1990 film!

The duo shared the news in a video on Instagram, posing in front of a yellow and green racing car at the Daytona International Speedway.

 

Anne, who is currently pregnant and has already had en epic year starring in The Odyssey, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mother Mary and The End of Oak Street, appears in the clip and says, "I'm gonna have this baby, and then we're gonna make this movie!"

Tom will reprise his role as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle and will also serve as producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper. Anne will play a team owner and engineer. The film will be directed by Jonathan Levine and the script is by Will Staples.

The Days of Thunder sequel is due for release June 2, 2028.
