The Gentleman and Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding has landed a fun, new gig! He's following in the footsteps of Ringo Starr and Pierce Brosnan as the new narrator of the upcoming Thomas the Tank Engine animated series.
Sharing the news on socials with a photo from a recording booth - and a picture of Thomas and friends in the background - Henry said, "it's an absolute joy" to be the new narrator.
And in a press release, the British actor said, "My favourite moment was seeing Thomas back on this adventure with his friends, exploring new places and iconic areas of Sodor. We're bringing new excitement to a franchise I grew up loving, and as someone who always identified with the character Henry, literally sharing his name, I'm incredibly proud to be part of this new chapter."
Thomas himself will be voiced by 13-year-old actor Harry Sparkes.
The new series, titled Thomas & Friends: Railway Stories Really Helpful Engines, is out on YouTube now and will also be available on Netflix on September 30.
