There's a new Barbie in town and she's rather inspiring!

Legendary conservationist and UN Messenger of Peace Dr. Jane Goodall is the latest person to be honoured by toy giant Mattel.

The new doll - who is dressed in khakis, has binoculars around her neck and comes with a toy chimpanzee - has been unveiled ahead of World Chimpanzee Day on July 14  and the 62nd anniversary of Dr. Goodall's first visit to Tanzania's Gombe National Park where she conducted her groundbreaking research on the primates.

"My entire career, I've wanted to help inspire kids to be curious and explore the world around them," Dr. Goodall shares in a statement with GMA.

"I'm thrilled to partner with Barbie and encourage young children to learn from their environment and feel a sense that they can make a difference."

According to Mattel, the doll is the first from their "Inspiring Women" series to be made from recycled materials. Other women they've honoured include Dr. Maya Angelou, Helen Keller and Eleanor Roosevelt.
