Halle Berry is no doubt having a laugh right about now....
The Hollywood star shared a post on Instagram marking the New Year with her partner Van Hunt, captioning a pic of them kissing, "well....IT'S OFFICIAL."
Understandably, a LOT of people interpreted the pic and caption combo as meaning they'd tied the knot. Halle was flooded - and I really do mean FLOODED - with congratulatory messages from fans, friends and colleagues alike in the comments section.

But, if you swipe above and check out the second pic she posted too, it's pretty clear the pair were simply celebrating the start of 2022!
Halle has since posted a follow-up message clarifying that she is in fact not married:
"We were just having some New Year’s Day fun! People clearly don’t swipe as much as we thought they did. 😂 thank you for the well wishes, tho’, it really touched our hearts!"
Actress Octavia Spencer was one of the many people who believed the pair had tied the knot:
"😂😂😂😂😂 Omgggggg. I am people!!!!!! So funny," she commented.
Such hilarity.
