Children of the 80s, do I have news for you - ALF is returning to our screens!

Yes, our favourite wise-cracking alien who crashed into the Tanner family's garage, kept trying to eat their cat and slapped the table laughing "Ha! I kill me!", will be back, this time on Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort Channel in collaboration with ALF creator and puppeteer himself, Paul Fusco.

From Saturday, July 29, or "Caturday" as Ryan calls it, re-runs of the hit family sit-com will air alongside ads featuring the furry extra-terrestrial. He'll be promoting a bunch of brands including Mint Mobile:

"At Maximum Effort, we love taking risks and blurring the lines between shows and sponsorship because we believe both can be equally entertaining," Ryan said.

"Besides my irrational love of ALF growing up, one of the reasons we licensed this show was precisely because Paul, Shout! Studios and our intrepid brand partners wanted to plot with us to bring ALF back to life. Tune in this Caturday!'

Paul Fusco, who voiced the beloved alien when the show aired from 1986 to 1990, says “it was a pleasure working with Maximum Effort Channel and ALF agrees they showed great insight and intelligence in approaching him for their campaign."

So the big question is, how do you watch the Maximum Effort Channel?

It's available through Fubo as well as Amazon Freevee, LG Channels, Plex, Sling Freestream, Tubi, VIDAA, VIZIO Watchfree+ and Xumo Play.

The channel also recently launched Bedtime Stories with Ryan, "to soothe your mind and soul" ...and apparently, Ryan Reynolds' soul too.

“The idea for a show made to help everyone fall asleep was born the same day as my fourth child,” he posted on social media at the time.

In a press release, he added that the show has been a dream of his for awhile: "Story time is a nighttime staple in our home and is a daily reminder of the power of storytelling.”
