Jason Momoa has announced the launch of his clothing line which will donate proceeds to ocean protection charities.

The Aquaman star has teamed up with Hawaiian surf brand Da Hui to create a line of pants, shorts and tops featuring his personal tattoo design to symbolise Hawaiian heritage.

The collection is called "Aloha J" - which is his signature sign-off - and according to Jason, is comfortable enough to both climb and surf in:

"I really wanted to create something that people want to wear, and that also supports protecting the ocean. A good cause and good clothes to raise awareness and respect for Hawaiian culture, our traditions and our environment," Jason writes on Instagram.

A portion of the profits from each item sold will be donated to various organisations working to protect the environment including Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii who do incredible work cleaning up beaches and running eduction programs on improving consumer behaviour.

Jason has been a long-time advocate for clean oceans.

He recently sent his Aquaman trident to Greenpeace activists to show his support while they occupied an oil rig in the Danish North Sea.

"Because I couldn’t be with them in person, I sent over my Aquaman trident in the hopes that it might help them protect our beautiful seas and planet from the real villains – the fossil fuel industry,” Jason wrote on his socials.

“Politicians need to step up to provide us with more sustainable sources, instead of allowing this industry to tear up our oceans and land. Aquaman would never let this shit happen, and neither should we.”

Last year, he spoke to world leaders at a United Nations climate conference in New York about the threats small islands are facing due to rising sea levels and how plastic pollution is destroying oceans and marine life.

“Shockingly, there are more plastic particles in the ocean than there are stars in the Milky Way,” he said at the time.

“It’s shameful.”

The Hollywood star has also taken part in a "Plastic Service Announcement" calling for an end to the use of single-use plastic water bottles.
