has announced he's been diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system.The 70-year-old Oscar-winner shared the news on his Instagram account:
"As the Dude would say..New S**T has come to light," he began, referencing one of his most well-known movies, The Big Lebowski.
"Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good," he continues.
"I'm starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery."
He added how "profoundly grateful" he is for the love and support from his family and friends and also used the moment to remind his American fans to vote.
"Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. And, while I have you, please remember to go vote. Because we are all in this together."
