So it all started with Shawn Mendes.
The singer posted a selfie on Insta earlier this week. He's outdoors, his eyes are closed, he has one arm out, his head is tilted back and he's clearly feeling the warmth of the sun on his face.
He captioned the photo: "Grateful. The sun, coffee, my health, my family, old Mariah Carey songs, music, humans!!!"

Within 24 hours music legend Mariah Carey responded with her own gratitude post and she cleverly recreated the selfie Shawn had taken.
In the photo, Mariah is also outside with her head tilted back, feeling the warmth of the sun on her face.
She captioned it: "Grateful. The sun, tea, my health, my family, old Shawn Mendes songs, music humans!!!"
Shawn was one of the first to comment on Mariah's post simply writing, "Hahahahahaah" followed by the heart and laughing face emojis.
And just like that, Mariah and Shawn showed the entire world how we could be using Instagram - to spread a little love and maybe even make someone smile in the process!
