Lexi Minetree will be stepping into Reese Witherspoon's hot pink shoes when she becomes the new Elle Woods!
The women announced the big news in a heart-warming video on Instagram. The clip shows the Legally Blonde icon sitting down with Lexi and letting her know she no longer has to audition.... "because you got the part!"
Lexi is visibly emotional at first, falling back into the couch in tears but soon perks up, cheering and clapping with excitement. She then calls her mum to tell her the sweet news.
"Ok ok ok, my brain is going nuts over here I don’t even know where to BEGIN. Probably with the thank yous," Lexi shared on her Instagram page.
"Thank you to my family, friends, and reps who believe in me and my silly lil dreams... And thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to @reesewitherspoon for handing me down Elle Woods. I already love her so so much, I promise she’s in good hands. P.S. thank you for showing me how amazing I am going to look in the future, soooo looking forward to that."
Lexi also thanked her hairdresser who turned her from brunette to blonde last year: "I owe you big time!!"

Who is Lexi Minetree?
Lexi is a 22-year-old actor from Georgia. She's previously worked on Law & Order: SVU and The Murdaugh Murders. According to her IMDB page, Lexi graduated from the University of Southern California with a double major in Theatre and Public Relations. She's also trained at the British American Drama Academy in London.
What do we know about the Legally Blonde spinoff?
A Legally Blonde spinoff series was first announced in April 2024 with Reese's Hello Sunshine bringing the project to life.
The following month it was announced the series would in fact be a prequel, titled Elle.
“I truly couldn’t be more excited about this series!" Reese said at the time. "Fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do. What could be better than that?”
She added, “I’m extremely grateful to the incredible teams at Prime Video and Hello Sunshine – along with our amazing writer Laura Kitrell – for making this dream of mine come true. Legally Blonde is back!”
Elle will follow our favourite blonde through high school, before she makes it to Harvard and the legal world.
