Hollywood superstar Russell Crowe is auctioning off his beloved Souths cap to raise money for the New South Wales Fire Service.

The actor posted a photo of what he's calling the "slightly used" hat on Twitter this morning and says he will double or triple the winning bid:

Should I auction this hat off? Signed and personalised to the highest bidder? I’ll double or triple the winning bid and donate the $ to the ⁦@NSWRFS⁩ .

Helping out the firies is clearly a cause that's important to Russell. He recently posted a video of his Nana Glen property "absolutely f***ing smashed" by the bushfires.

The hat was most recently worn by Russell on November 27 when he and a group of neighbours helped to clear some roads affected by the fires:

At the time of writing, the highest bid for the hat stands at US $3100 !
