Selma Blair has announced she's currently in a period of remission from Multiple Sclerosis.

The actress and mama who was diagnosed with the disease in 2018, shared her health update via Zoom with the Television Critics Association panel, where she was introducing the upcoming documentary about her life, Introducing, Selma Blair.

"My prognosis is great. I'm in remission," she said, as reported by Deadline.

"Stem cell, HSTC put me in remission," Selma adds, referring to haematopoietic stem cell transplantation which is an experimental procedure using stem cells derived from bone marrow or umbilical cords.

"It took about a year after stem cell for the inflammation and lesions to really go down. I was reluctant to talk about it because I felt this need to be more healed, more 'fixed."

According to the Mayo Clinic, remission can last for months or even years, but there is still no cure.

Last week, Selma's friend and fellow actress Christina Applegate revealed she too, is living with MS.

Selma's journey is further explored in her film which is due out on Discovery+, October 15.
