Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are marking "el Día de los Muertos" or "the Day of the Dead."

The famous couple took to Instagram to share photos of themselves all dressed up with painted faces to highlight the tradition which has roots in Indigenous culture and is celebrated in Mexico but also all over Latin America.

The event is observed on November 2 and begins to unfold in the days before. And while the theme of death is prominent, it's all about celebrating and honouring the lives of those who have passed.

You can learn more about this beautiful tradition through the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) HERE.
