It's Ryan Reynolds' 48th birthday and this year, he got the best present ever from his good friend, actor and Wrexham FC co-chairman Rob McElhenney - I know, I know. I say it's the best present every year. But this time Rob really outdid himself: You can now adopt your very own Ryan Reynolds!
Not the person, unfortunately. But a rescue animal named after him.
You see, Rob teamed up with animal welfare charity Best Friends who have renamed adoptable dogs and cats across America, "Ryan Reynolds." Even some of their sanctuary animals including donkeys, pigs, goats, rabbits, ducks, parrots, a horse, rooster and turtle are now named Ryan too.
There's a whole bunch of adorable animals just waiting to find their forever homes at Best Friends locations in New York, Texas and more. And as Rob says in a video announcing the birthday gift, "if everyone had their own Ryan Reynolds, they could shower him with love and affection, and wouldn't the world be a better place?"
weeping Yes, yes it would Rob.
According to Best Friends, "every 90 seconds a dog or cat in a shelter is killed in this country, just because they don't have a safe place to call home."

The #AdoptARyan campaign aims to save animals all over the U.S., plus Rob will be matching donations made from now until October 31, 2024, up to $25,000.
Oh and by the way, Ryan agrees, this is the best present ever.
In a post on Instagram, the Deadpool star writes: "I was expecting some sort of assault on decency or thinly veiled attack on Canada. Instead, I got one of the greatest gifts of my life in knowing Rob McElhenney. He is as wonderful and singular as you'd imagine and I'm the luckiest guy on earth."
In true Ryan-style, he added that he'll be "reconfiguring" Rob's birthday surprise for this April which was to more or less, "kidnap" him.
"Now it's going to have to be something kind and joyful. And less of a felony."
