Beetlejuice 2, the sequel every Tim Burton fan has been waiting for, is officially happening, and yes, we even have a release date!
Warner Bros has confirmed the news on social media with the movie out on September 5, 2024 in Australia (and September 6 elsewhere).
Details about the film are being kept tightly under wraps for now however Variety first confirmed last year that Michael Keaton would return in the title role, Winona Ryder would return as Lydia Deetz and some new faces would be joining the fun too including Wednesday star Jenna Ortega who will play Lydia's daughter, and actor Justin Theroux whose role is yet to be disclosed.
This is Jenna's second time working with Tim as he was behind the hit Wednesday series on Netflix. A second season is on the way but we don't have a release date for that one just yet.
But back to Beetlejuice 2, the title of the second film has been revealed too: it's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice!

In case you missed it, the original Beetlejuice film, a horror comedy classic, came out in 1988 and also starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Catherine O'Hara. It follows the story of a dead couple who are trying to scare away a family that has moved into their old home so they seek out an exorcist named... you guessed it, Beetlejuice!
