Brendan Fraser is back - and he's clearly moved by the overwhelming show of support he's receiving for his new film, The Whale.
The movie, directed by Darren Aronofsky, received a 6-minute standing ovation during its premiere screening at the Venice Film Festival, with Brendan visibly emotional in the audience.

The Whale follows the story of Brendan's character Charlie, a 270-kg, middle-aged, gay man who wants to reconnect with his daughter, played by Stranger Things star Sadie Sink. While there has been some criticism of the film for putting Brendan in a prosthetic suit (rather than hiring a larger actor), the overall sentiment seems has been positive so far:
"Thank you for the warm reception," Brendan said during a press conference for the film, as reported by The New York Times.
"I'm looking forward to how this film makes a deep impression on everyone as much as it has on me."
This is his first leading role since 2013 where he portrayed Jack Damson in Breakout.
