We have an official release date for The Crown Season 6!

Netflix has today announced the hugely popular series by Peter Morgan will be split into two parts with Part 1 debuting on November 16 and Part 2 following soon after on December 14.

Season 6 will cover events from 1997 to 2005 including the tragic death of Princess Diana. According to a press release from Netflix, Part 1 will be made up of 4 episodes which portray "a relationship blossoming between Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) and Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences."

Producers have previously confirmed these scenes were filmed with sensitivity and consideration:

"The show might be big and noisy, but we're not. We're thoughtful people and we're sensitive people. There were very careful, long conservations about how we were going to do it," Suzanne Mackie told Deadline.

"The audience will judge it in the end, but I think it's been delicately, thoughtfully recreated. Elizabeth Debicki is an extraordinary actress and she was so thoughtful and considerate. She loved Diana. There's a huge amount of respect from us all, I hope that's evident."

As for Part 2, it will consist of 6 episodes and will focus more on Prince William's life. Per the release: "Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother's death as th monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion. As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new Royal fairytale in William and Kate."

The announcement about the two-part final season has arrived with a new teaser featuring the show's three Queens:

"The crown is a symbol of permanence. It's something you are, not something you do," actor Claire Foy says as Queen Elizabeth II in seasons 1 and 2.

"Some portion of our natural selves is always lost. We have all made sacrifices. It is not a choice, it is a duty," Olivia Colman says who played the British monarch in seasons 3 and 4.

"But what about the life I put aside? The woman I put aside?" Imelda Staunton adds as Queen Elizabeth II in seasons 5 and 6.
