Wait a minute, there's no Jennifer Coolidge this time? Well, there's no sign of her character Tanya McQuoid in the new trailer and given Tanya's fate in Season 2, it seems unlikely Jennifer would return. (But never say never, perhaps?)
Where is The White Lotus Season 3 taking place?
The series, created by Mike White, is set in Thailand with filming locations including Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok.
“We are pleased to partner with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to execute Mike’s creative vision and showcase all that the beautiful country of Thailand has to offer, as the next group of guests check in to The White Lotus,” HBO & Max’s EVP of Production Janet Graham Barba said in a release last year.
The Tourism Authority’s Thapanee Kiatphaibool added that the country is honoured to be involved and to be given the opportunity to showcase “the kingdom’s natural beauty, rich historical sites and diverse landscapes.”
The last two seasons were set in Hawaii and Italy.
What is the plot of The White Lotus Season 3?
In a post-season 2 interview on HBO, Mike White shared this little tidbit:
“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex and I think the third season, it would be a satirical and funny look at death, and eastern religion and spirituality.”
In the trailer shared above, we meet various hotel guests, get hints of their relationships crumbling, and utter chaos as crime sweeps through the resort.
When Will The White Lotus Season 3 be released?
