If you didn't get enough of Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galatzine in Red, White & Royal Blue - great news - they're returning for a sequel!
The film's cast and crew made the surprise announcement at a special screening of the movie in Culver City, California today, and yes, there was a whole lot of squealing in the aftermath. In a clip posted to Taylor's Instagram (and somewhere in between all the squealing), it's revealed that Matthew López who co-wrote and directed the first film will write the screenplay with Casey McQuiston, who wrote the best-selling novel that it's based on.
Prime Video also confirmed the news on their social media pages sharing a promo image of a cake with toothpicks of the British and American flags on top, a number 2 candle, and the words, "Fancy another slice?"

Why yes, yes we do fancy another slice!
The original film follows the story of Alex Claremont-Diaz (played by Taylor), America's first son, and Britain's Prince Henry (played by Nicholas), who is third in line to the throne. Per the official synopsis, they have a lot in common such as "stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity... and a total disdain for each other." Going into damage control after an altercation at a royal event, the two are forced to stage a "truce" and their relationship "unexpectedly begins to thaw."
It also stars Uma Thurman, Stephen Fry, Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson and more.
The film, which came out in 2023 after the novel's release in 2019, was an instant success, hitting Prime Video's top 10 movie list and creating a huge buzz on social media.
No details about the sequel's plot or cast members have been shared just yet, so stay tuned!
