In an Instagram post, Alex's wife Jean shared how proud she is of her son for coming up with the idea:

"I sincerely appreciate my son Matthew and his great idea to donate his Dad's suits to @thedoefund. I had never heard about this amazing organisation until Matt brought it to my attention...it truly is so wonderful," she writes.

"It warms my heart to know that Alex's suits will be donated to such an important cause."

The Doe Fund is a non-profit organisation that works to break the cycles of homelessness and incarceration through housing assistance and work opportunities. One of the ways they do this is by providing free work attire for job interviews.

In an interview with InsideWink, Matthew Trebek says he hopes whoever ends up wearing the suits, knows they're not alone:

"Even though I know that it's not all about what someone wears, there is something to be said for feeling a bit better about yourself when you have pride in your attire. My hope is that the confidence someone might feel in wearing one of my dad's suits and ties will help them land a job, and more importantly, will help them realise that they are not alone."

Alex, who passed away last year from stage 4 pancreatic cancer, is widely remembered for his own kindness, generosity and warmth.
