Ryan Reynolds has sent a personal video message to a 9-year-old boy who shared his Halloween candy so other kids wouldn't miss out.

A clip of Dylan Suiter went viral last week, wearing a blue shirt and tie - just like Ryan's character from Free Guy. He was spotted on the surveillance footage taking treats out from his own Halloween stash and placing them in an empty bowl for the next lot of trick-or-treaters.

Ryan shared the clip on his socials at the time describing it as his "favourite #FreeGuy Halloween moment," calling Dylan a "legend."

He's since reached out to Dylan's mum, Sarah, with a message for the legend himself.

"Dylan, it's Ryan Reynolds. I saw your video from Halloween dressed up as Guy from Free Guy," he can be heard saying in the video.

"You know, I saw lots of people dressed up as Guy from Free Guy but nobody blew me away quite like you did. That was amazing to see you not only dressed up as Guy, doing a sweet, sweet deed like that. But also doing it without any expectation of reward."

Ryan goes on to praise Dylan for the act that he carried out so casually:

"You've mastered the little things. Kindness matters. Those kinds of moments matter. You master those little things, the big things fall in place, I promise you."

He ends his message by sending Dylan "tons of love" and telling him his actions "means the absolute world."

"I hope I get to meet you one of these days," Ryan says before dropping a little Free Guy line in there too: "Hey don't have a good day, have a great day!"

You can listen to his full message below - and check out Dylan's heart-melting smile after he's watched the video:
