The first photos are out of Dakota Johnson playing the legendary Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming short film, Flesh Impact.
Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal, the short is being released in celebration of the icon's 100th birthday which recently passed on June 1.
Dakota will play Marilyn at the height of her fame whilst Ellen Burstyn will play another version of Marilyn - one the world didn't get to see. It also stars Peter Sarsgaard and Sepideh Moafi.

"I've always been fascinated by Marilyn Monroe," Maggie says in a press release. "With Flesh Impact, we showcase the timeless icon we know and love through a modern lens that reclaims her story."
According to the release, the film "honours Marilyn Monroe's singular power to challenge convention and captivate the world across generations."
And, it takes its title from a phrase used to describe Marilyn's aura. It was said that she looked so real and luminous on camera, viewers felt they could touch "flesh" through the screen.
The short film has been created with the blessings of the Marilyn Monroe estate holders, and with the support of automotive brand, Genesis.
Flesh Impact will be released at the Venice Film Festival this September.
