Hugh Jackman has recovered from a breakthrough case of COVID-19 and in giving his health update, he's making sure all those who work in the healthcare system know just how appreciated they really are.

The Hollywood star revealed he tested positive to the virus in late December but has only had mild symptoms since: "I have a scratchy throat and a bit of a runny nose," he shared at the time.

In a new video posted to Instagram, he explains that he's now out of isolation, ready to "get back to the theatre" and feeling immense gratitude for the doctors, nurses and health staff who've been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic:

"I cannot imagine how you guys are coping after two years of this exhausting, never-ending story that is COVID. Hospitals are struggling again. And you guys just continue to, day in and day out, take care of so many people. I am just so, so grateful for all that you do. I have said it before, but I just really had to say it again: Thank you."

He captioned the clip with more words of gratitude too:

"The mental and physical toll this pandemic must be taking on you and your families is unimaginable. Your dedication to help those in need is next level. I am grateful for all of you."

Hugh's been starring in The Music Man on Broadway but the show's been put on hold as a number of cast members have been battling the virus too. Performances have already resumed with Hugh and co-star Sutton Lenore in the lead.
