Actor, writer, comedian and TV personality Ken Jeong is quietly helping the families of those who were killed in a shooting in Atlanta last week.

Eight people died when a gunman opened fire on three Asian-owned spas. In the days that followed, a number of GoFundMe pages were set up to support the victims families.

One donor, listed as Kenneth Jeong, made five donations of $10,000 to each page and People.com has confirmed it was The Masked Singer judge and Crazy Rich Asians star who made those contributions (even though Ken's full name is Kendrick Kang-Joh Jeong).

Ken has been regularly speaking up about the rise of anti-asian hate crimes and recently told late night talk show host Seth Meyers that the Asian community has had enough.

"Anti-Asian-American crime has risen almost 150 per cent in the last year, while overall hate crime went down 7 percent. This is precisely due to weaponising terms such as 'The China Virus' and 'Kung Flu,'" he said referring to terms used by former U.S. President Donald Trump about where coronavirus started.

"I don't know how to solve racism," he continued.

"It takes listening, learning, loving, being tolerant."
