Authorities in the U.S. are praising superstar Jon Bon Jovi for saving a woman's life.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the musician persuaded a stranger to safely come off the ledge of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. In a post on X, the department wrote:
"A shout out to @jonbonjovi and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety."
The message included a quote from Chief of Police, John Drake too: "It takes all of us to help keep each other safe."
Authorities shared a pixelated video of the incident on YouTube which has now been removed. The clip appeared to show Bon Jovi setting up for a music video on the bridge before noticing the woman and walking over to help with another person.
Bon Jovi hasn't commented on the incident as yet.

The news was shared on September 10 in the U.S., which also happens to be the globally recognised World Suicide Prevention Day.
Bon Jovi, who celebrated his 62nd birthday this year, has dedicated his life to helping others. In 2006, he started the JBJ Soul Foundation with his wife, Dorothea. The organisation has set up restaurants to provide free meals for struggling families and students, and also raises funds for homelessness and poverty. In 2021, the foundation helped purchase a 15-bedroom home with 30 beds in Las Vegas to help youth off the streets.
“The JBJ Soul Foundation understands the great need to continue to address youth homelessness across the country, which is when we saw the potential to make an impact in Las Vegas,” Bon Jovi said in a statement shared on his foundation’s website.
“We knew that in partnering with Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY), along with motivating the community with our match grant, we would create a successful venture where vulnerable youth can have not only a safe place to sleep, but also have access to services to help them move beyond their circumstances.”
