Anna Paquin has an important message for her fellow actresses who were former child stars.
Taking to Instagram following the passing of Hayden Panettiere at the age of 36, as well as the deaths of fellow child stars Daveigh Chase and Michelle Trachtenberg, Anna is letting anyone who may be struggling know, they're not alone.
"It is not a coincidence that so many former, specifically pre-sexualised, female, child 'stars' have profoundly sad lives and untimely ends," she begins her message.
"We were not as protected by the 'systems' that look great on paper, as we are supposed to be. RIP HP, MT, DC and too many others."
Anna, who made her film debut in 'The Piano' at the age of 9 and won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress at age 11, has been a part of the industry for three decades.
"It's a strange small club we belong to and you are worthy of support no matter how our industry made us feel," she ends her message. "Literally DM me. I believe you and I will stand by your side. You aren't alone. Let's have each other's backs. It might make public disclosure less terrifying."
